Inter-Balkan conference on maintenance law

On Monday 30 September 2013, the Κοç University Law School organized in its premises in Istanbul an one-day conference on maintenance law. The subject of this inter-Balkan meeting, in which the Hellenic Institute for International and Foreign Law also participated with legal experts A. Douga and V. Koumpli, was the presentation and analysis of private international law as well as substantial law issues on maintenance. The contributors illustrated the legal background and the jurisdictional framework of several Balkan legal orders (Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Serbia and Turkey). Furthermore, practical problems arising from the international maintenance policy under the light of international conventions on maintenance were illustrated. The presentations of the inter-Balkan conference will be published in the second issue of the sixty-seventh volume (2014.2) of the Revue hellénique de droit international.
