Organized and operating as a legal entity of public law (i.e. a self-governing body discharging State functions), the Institute is supervised by the Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights as regards administrative and financial matters, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as regards matters relating to the international relations of the State.
The Institute’s seat is in Athens.
Scientific and administrative directorship is exercised by the Institute Director. The current Director is Spyridon Vl. Vrellis, Professor at the Faculty of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
The Institute’s research service is comprised of specialized associates, whose duties relate to all legal issues pertaining to the Institute’s objectives.
The Secretariat of the Institute is responsible for all matters of administrative and financial nature.
